First and foremost, I'm hoping you can enjoy a happy and healthy New Year! I enjoyed the changing of the year, and really did feel 2013 moved along like a full year. Take the time to soak up the moment and make the best of each year! :)

Secondly, I just wanted to remark on the upcoming ideas for my cast and crew. At the moment... it's quite a bit barren! I'm confident that ideas will be coming back and, more importantly, the motivation gets into gear, but the time alotted may change soon enough. In the upcoming year, I hope to begin the process of pursuit for a master's degree (and no, not one of art! ). As a result, with work being a constant, the art production may take a hit in the upcoming months. No guarantee of anything of course, but I thought I'd let you know ahead of time. As always, I couldn't thank you enough for the support over the past year and all. I'm sure I can entertain a bit this year, and I'm happy that it entertains more than just myself as well!

Finally, with regards to features, I wanted to repay one that I said I would last month. For those of you who don't know her, I'd recommend checking out the following DA'er!

:iconhankinstein:

To those who haven't heard, her art's been quite an inspiration in the past. Her cartoons have been fun and vivid, and her coloring skills have always been top notch. Once a traditional cartooning master, she'd been able to convert her skills to GIMP digitally and do so in very quick and impressive fashion. Here are a few examples of her work:

Crosby, Stills and Nash 2013 by hankinstein Adam and the Ants Prince Charming Phase by hankinstein Compozerz Story p. 101 by hankinstein HW Art Jam #2 - J. Leslie Carmichael by hankinstein

So yes, have a fun time with her bright, fun gallery! It's always recommended.

Beyond that, I'll take each day as it comes, folks! See you around, you know where to find me!

Hey Rich, I just read your journal entry & I think that is great that you're going for your degree, I really hope that it works out for you & whenever you choose to do any art I wish you the best of luck on both ends.  It's sucks that you won't be able to enter my Aerobics art jam but I know what it's like to focus on your priorities.  So again I wish you good luck on your degree. :peace:

Well, more power to you! :)

I'm going to go to college as well, to pursue a bachelor's degree. This year, I will be working my hardest. :)

And, Amy has been a really good friend of mine for a while now. :D She's that amazing. :)

Cast and crew...for what?! :O That implies a full-scale, professional, legitimate-budget production! But a masters?! Wow, that would require 2 years of extra college, on top of the 4-year undergraduate slog we had to go through! I hope you can manage, bud. If so, I'll be rooting for you (I'd bless you, but I do not feel I hold that level of authority). :salute:

It's a joke, sir. I came from a theater background as a kid, so that mostly explains it.

And thanks for the support. It'll be a challenge for sure, but I'll get by.

Yes let's all hope 2014 is just as good(if not better) then the last. Best wishes on your plans for you master's degree and everyone elses plans as well.

Oh yeah I' ve seen Hankinstein's art before. It's quite good. Has kind of a French cartoon feel to it.

Many thanks, pal. I'm sure I won't be cranking out a ton of stuff this year, but anything can happen with the right time management.

And you bring up a good point, very keen observation. :)

Happy New Year to you too, Rich. I hope 2014 is just as full and bright as 2013 was for you, if not much better. It's been quite a year of artwork from you and some amazing and entertaining art jams. :D

A Masters degree? Wow man. I wish you best of success with that. I hope whatever you decide in that regard will work out for you.

I'm sure the motivation for your artwork will kick in again soon. The holidays sometimes can put quick a stop to the natural order of things. January is usually a bit of a slow month with a new year starting and getting everything back into gear after the holidays. Just take your time, we're always here. :)

Yeah, Amy is an amazing artist and it's been wonderful to see her grow from traditional and adapt to digital. But her skills, both traditional and digital are in fact top notch. Her coloring abilities with the markers and fading and weaving the colors through each other is something I haven't seen much of around here. With markers I'm talking about. I have several of her original works she did on paper that she sent me and looking at such work up close and in person is quite amazing that sometimes a scanner doesn't do justice.

All the best for you and all your endeavors this year for 2014 buddy. Looking forward to all that you have to share in the coming months. :D

I think a lot of it was putting off the exhaustion of the November jam until this month, as I kept plowing through in December for the big pic. So I'm pretty burnt out for really big ideas for now. Maybe a few more jam entries, but nothing huge for the foreseeable future. Thanks for the support either way, I appreciate it pal.
